Glen Wilson started his barbering career while in the military and he continued to cut hair while traveling abroad! Once he retired from the Sheriff Department he went back to a passion of his and he hasn't looked back! Mr. Wilson and his family are excited to have Wilson Barber College as a educational outlet for potential students here in Galveston County!

The students at GWBS will receive a sound barber education as well as entrepreneurial skills that will propel them into the market well equipped. We are student driven, and focused on providing each student with the tools needed to be their own boss.

Glen Wilson graduated from La Marque High School in 1985. He attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas, on a football scholarship. Glen later entered the United States Marine Corps serving in the Gulf War Desert Storm in the 0311 Infantry. Glen would be honorably discharged from the military, where he enrolled in the police academy in Alvin, Texas. Glen served nine years as a police officer. During his first year in law enforcement, Glen enrolled in Barber College in Houston Texas where he received his class A Barbara license.

Glen completed his barber education license in 2004 and opened the first barber college in Galveston County in La Marque, Texas. He started the first high school barber program in Texas at  La Marque High School. GWBS, is owned and operated by the founder Glen Wilson, and is the only school of his kind in Galveston/ Harris County. We offer the lowest tuition of $1,000 in the state of Texas. No one school teaches the business of barbering the way GWBS does. Discipline is mandatory; no compromising with school policies. Blue Jeans, long sleeve white collar shirts, and vest are required to clock in for hours.
