ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

Produced by:

The Creative Co-Lab

&

Bryan-Keyth Wilson

COVID-19 has caused many creatives to shelter in place and many gigs have been cancelled. How do we continue to create? Will the curtain rise anytime soon? These questions have been swirling through the air. During the wake of this pandemic our world has faced our country’s secret pandemic which is racism. Our theatre company wants to continue with our mission of telling the stories of people of color and other marginalized communities. In the words of Toni Morrison, “nobody was minding us, so we minded ourselves.”

We want to continue to amplify the voices of black and brown theatre artists and spoken word artists and honor the living playwright and poet. We look forward to you joining us on our inaugural festival and we look forward to the powerful work that will be created. READY! SET! WRITE!
